Culture of Aotearoa

The rich Maori culture is weaved into the modern society of New Zealand at all levels, and is part of everyday life. You can hear greetings and place names using the Maori language; every rugby game begins with a haka - a war dance -  and you can see symbols of the culture all around you.

It is all part of the the wairua - the soul - of New Zealand.

At a deeper level, an immersion into the culture on a guided tour, visiting a Marae, talking to the Kaumatua - the elders - can be a spiritual experience that gives you a whole new level of understanding of this ancient culture and its traditions, beyond the everyday.

We are committed to offering deeper, more personal experiences to our manuhiri, the guests.

Nothing replaces the personal experience only a guide can provide, but our comprehensive documentation package to the traveller contains abundance of information to help them get started understanding the basic concepts of our culture.
